National Search for the Best Labor Pool

The Challenge

A top 10 insurance company needed to lease a 100,000+ SF call center somewhere in the Central or Mountain Time Zones. The client needed this work to be done confidentially and quickly.

Factors to be considered included mitigating the high operational expense of the training new hires, a labor base large enough to allow them a good hiring ratio, and a supportive local government. The chosen city needed to be scored on air connections, demographics, educational level of workforce, unemployment, competitors in the market quality of life, health care, weather and local transportation.

The Solution

Team interface protocols were established, A preliminary analysis of 15 cities was presented along with existing (and potential) real estate properties. This was narrowed down to six cities and B&C went to all locations, did the site visits, interviewed local officials and major employers, and made a recommendation as to a course of action. After the client made their decision, as to the city, B&C created an RFP, analyzed the responses, evaluated the developers and made a final recommendation. B&C then assisted the client and their legal counsel in obtaining incentives and signing a ten-year lease with options.

The Results

The location worked out well for them and they renewed the lease.
